Where does music come from?
Composers draw their inspiration from many sources: streams and snowstorms, grasshoppers and birds, landscapes near and far.
Join us for a colorful, creative afternoon of classical music – especially for kids – exploring the intersections of imagination, fantasy, and the natural world, with works by Mozart, Britten, Elizabeth Maconchy, Roberto Sierra, and more.
Afterward, kids can drum with the Chameleons.
An instrument “Petting Zoo” will follow the performance in the Library's beautiful outdoor Children's Garden.
Kids will be able handle and play orchestral instruments as guided by the musicians, and will be encouraged to touch, blow, pluck, bow, and strike.
The event is FREE and appropriate for all ages, and no tickets are necessary.
