This sublimely beautiful and undoubtedly best known of his sacred works will be performed in its rarely heard version for symphony orchestra.
The program will also include Felix Mendelssohn’s powerful setting of Psalm 42 and stirring cantata “Vom Himmel hoch.”
Music Director Kevin Leong conducts the 110-voice Concord Chorus and a professional orchestra on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 8:00 PM at Cary Hall, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, Massachusetts.
The concert features two superb Boston-based soloists: soprano Deborah Selig and baritone Sumner Thompson.
Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for seniors, and $10 for children and students, and can be purchased online at www.concordchorus.org, at the door or reserved over the phone at (978) 254-1551.
Founded in 1945, the Concord Chorus performs two concerts of choral-orchestral and smaller works each season.
The repertory of the Concord Chorus encompasses music from the 16th century to the present.
