The programme consists of Beethoven's famous 'Grande Sonate Pathetique' as well as Schubert's late A major Sonata D959.
It is known that Schubert held Beethoven in highest esteem, and that several of his works contain resemblances of Beethoven's compositions.
Yet towards the end of his career, Schubert had developed his own, characteristic musical language, whose warmth and depth are exemplified in the Sonata D959.
The works are performed by Sven Wang, who has studied piano and voice at conservatories in Germany and the UK before recently moving to Cambridge, MA, where he also works at MIT's Institute for Data, Systems and Society.
We look forward to welcoming you!
