Yoko Miwa’s musicianship evokes the harmonic finesse and rhythmic brilliance of key influences like Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner and Oscar Peterson.
Her expansive, versatile writing presents both a remarkable ear for melody and an earthy, intuitive feel for groove.
As a bandleader, Miwa heads one of the finest jazz trios playing today.
The Yoko Miwa Trio features pianist Miwa, bassist Will Slater, and drummer Scott Goulding.
This concert is part of the W Gallery Jazz Series which brings Berklee faculty ensembles to the gallery for monthly performances under the direction of its Artistic Director Neil Olmstead, Professor, Berklee College of Music.
Please stay after the concert for a reception honoring the artists featured in our April Exhibit.
The reception will take place from 3 pm to 4 pm with delicious refreshments and is free to all!
