His work in Jewish music has brought him to Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, New York, Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow and London.
Dmitri Gaskin is an accomplished accordionist, pianist, composer and arranger specializing in klezmer and Romanian folk music.
Winner of the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award for a contemporary classical composition, Dmitri also formed Harmonikos, a performing collective of young composers and musicians.
For the past five years the Tsvey Brider duo has been performing their original and stylistically diverse settings of 20th century Yiddish modernist poetry.
These songs, now reimagined through Gaskin's arrangements, bring a whole new world of sound, texture and color to the work of Tsvey Brider.
Drinks on the patio follow the concert!
