Join the Newton Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Newton native James M Orent, as they give performances of Ravel's Bolero, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, with soloist Michael Lewin, and Respighi's The Pines of Rome, at Rashi Auditorium. This colorful and lively program is ideal to bring children to.

There are many interesting orchestral effects to capture their attention, including the first use of pre-recorded sound in an orchestral work; the song of a nightingale. An exhibition of paintings by Newton Symphony Orchestra violinist Melanie Maz, will be on view in the lobby of the Rashi Auditorium before during and after the concert.

The paintings will be available for purchase with 10% of the proceeds being donated to the Newton Symphony Orchestra. One painting will be raffled off at intermission.
