A true multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter, his work is a melding of pop music fervor and static bedroom recordings, rounding out an eclectic sound that skirts the lines of R&B, indie, and hip-hop.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Dominic Fike, Daniel Caesar, Tame Impala, Stevie Wonder, and the Beatles, Surman has formed an homage to the profoundly emotional works that raised him, encapsulated in passionate writings and lyricism as well as a visceral and moving live performance, slamming together characters collected from rock bands with vocalists who bring soaring harmonies while adding moving piano melodies.
A musician on the cusp of a bright expansion, Surman is now enrolled on scholarship at Berklee College of Music and has recordings with world-class producers in the works.
