Celebrate a local legend with an evening of music, food, and fun!

Mezzo-Soprano Vanessa Schukis portrays culinary icon Julia Child in composer Lee Hoiby’s Bon Appétit!

Ms. Schukis will keep the audience laughing with her fast-paced performance of Julia Child in this 25 minute one-act operetta, accompanied by pianist Scott Nicholas.

The witty, warm-hearted opera is based on two episodes from Julia Child’s popular cooking show in which she prepares a chocolate cake and premiered in 1989 with actress Jean Stapleton originating the role of Julia Child.

The title comes from Child’s signature sign-off that wrapped up each of her award-winning broadcasts.

The evening will begin with a performance by jazz guitarist Frank DiBussolo, followed by Bon Appétit!

and capped off with chocolate cupcakes and beverages.

Please join us for a celebration of Jazz and Julia!

The concert takes place in The Dewey Family Hall at deCordova.

All ages welcome.

Doors open at 4:30, with jazz guitar, followed by Bon Appétit!

Tickets include Julia Child-inspired snacks and beverages.
