Category: | Music & Concerts |
Hosted by Rebecca Mac & Mattias Kaufmann, members of the Boston based Klezmer ensemble; Mamaliga.
FEATURED ARTIST: ZACH MAYER, SAXOPHONE
Zach Mayer brings people together through the power of spiritual wordless melodies, rooted in Jewish tradition called nigunim.
Zach channels his family lineage of four-generations of cantors before him, as he guides communities around the world in pursuing their own joyous voices in song.
4:00 PM: WORKSHOP
We’ll learn a tune together, slowly by ear.
If you don’t know a lot of tunes, or you’re looking to add to your repertoire, this is a great opportunity for the Klez-pros and amateurs alike to learn something new!
5:30 PM: JAM
Bring a tune to lead, play along, do a dance, or just come to listen!
All are welcome!
Light refreshments & an open top shelf bar follow the Jam!
NOTE: Though this is a free event, donations welcome to fund latkes, L' Chaims with slivovitz & other drinks, and to thank the Musicians!
ACCESSIBILTY
The Boston Synagogue is handicapped accessible and an easy walk from the Red Line, Orange Line, Green Line, and BlueBike stations.
If you need to drive, there are handicapped parking spots at the front door and no stairs from parking to seating or restrooms.
It also has non-fixed seating, which means we can accommodate wheelchairs in any row and allow folks in wheelchairs to sit with their friends, families, or PCAs.
