The Collegium Musicum and Gospel Choir of Memorial Congregational Church will present a showcase concert of greatest hits ranging from Renaissance masters to 21st century songwriters on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public, and admission is free. Memorial Congregational Church is located across from the Goodnow Library on Concord Road in Sudbury.

The Young Musicians Showcase Concert is the fifth in the 2007-2008 MCC Concert Series. The musicians in this program attend Ephraim Curtis Middle School, Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, and schools in surrounding towns.

The Collegium Musicum, directed by Dave McLellan and Kim Ward, will celebrate the end of its sixth year of operation. The group began in 2002 – and has evolved into a large ensemble with repertoire ranging from the music of the Renaissance greats Michael Praetorius and Tielman Susato to 60’s greats Lennon/McCartney and John Fogarty to current tunes by songwriters like K. T. Tunstall and The Dixie Chicks.

The Gospel Choir, directed by Jeannette McLellan, is completing its fourth season as a regular MCC ensemble. From its similar small beginnings, it has developed into a devoted group of teen singers, performing gospel, show tunes, and popular songs.
