Music Director Federico Cortese opens NESE’s15th concert season by welcoming back international award winning violinist Irina Muresanu for a concert filled with vibrant colors and sizzling sounds. She joins the orchestra for Schubert’s “Rondo in A” and the premiere of a new string arrangement of Enesco’s “Rumanian Rhapsody No.1”.

Fall into the moodiness and melancholy of autumn with Lutoslawski’s rarely-performed masterpiece filled with tension and mystery. The performance concludes with Schubert’s achingly beautiful “Death and the Maiden”.

Schubert: Rondo in A
Irina Muresanu, violin
Lutoslawski: Preludes and Fugue
Enesco: Rumanian Rhapsody No.1
Irina Muresanu, violin
Schubert: Death and the Maiden

'Muresanu brings dramatic edge, spine-tingling brilliance and rhythmic tautness. Her playing was thrilling as well as drop-dead gorgeous.” ~ Boston Globe
