This trio amazingly executes a tour de force performance of infectious Afro-Cuban dance rhythms which compels one's body to dance, and one's soul to soar towards the heavens. The music fuses a rich blend of lush jazz harmonies with vibrant African and Latin American rhythms. This will assuredly be a concert that refreshes, restores and uplifts the human spirit!
The 1:00 PM performance will serve as a lecture/performance for children, their families and the community. The 1:00 PM performance will include interactive participation between the audience and the performers, as well as children playing percussion instruments on stage with the musicians.
The 8:00 PM performance will be a concert.
The Tufts University Department of Music, Tufts Community Music Program, and the Eliot-Pearson Children's School are co-sponsors of 'La Musica Caliente: September's Child' concert. This concert will serve as a fundraising event for the Eliot-Pearson Children's School Scholarship Fund.
