We will walk ½ mile out to the original location of Thoreau’s cabin so make sure to dress for the weather (coat, hat, gloves, boots, etc). During the program children and their families will have the chance to participate in Park Passport day and pick up their own DCR Park Passports.
The free Park Passport program, part of the national No Child Left Inside initiative, is open to anyone and everyone who visits a participating park. 76 state parks in Massachusetts currently participate in this program. Participants receive a colorful park passport and can chronicle their experiences in participating parks with individualized stamps.
