The Winter Forest at Freetown State Forest, Assonet

Bring the whole family along for a leisurely walk through the forest. We’ll learn how to identify evergreens of winter as well as some of the deciduous trees, shrubs, and groundcover that line the trails. We’ll hike the forested trails then end at the pavilion for a warming fire, roasted marshmallows, and hot chocolate!

Meet at the parking lot at Park Headquarters off of Slab Bridge Road in Assonet at 1:00PM. Hike is appropriate for all ages. Please dress for the weather and wear winter boots. Hike will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
