Join the National Park Service, the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and the Saugus River Watershed Council and be apart of a special event.

Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site is home to a segment of the Saugus River which provides important habitat for a healthy run of fish each spring.

Fish populations are monitored annually in the Saugus River and are one indication of the health of the water system. Join the Rangers to learn about the landscape and environmental changes that have taken place here over the 400 years, why this recent restoration is important, and why counting fish is important. So bring the kids dressed for fun, waders will be provided.
