Step outside and step into spring! The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation invites families across the commonwealth to download their Park Passport and join the Summer Passport Challenge!

Hike a heart healthy trail, explore ponds and pools, try your hand at fishing, discover the bugs and buds of spring or stare at the starry night sky! Spring is a great time to visit your state parks.

If you are age 16 or under and have visited all of the Passport Parks in one of the five regions of Massachusetts, you earn a cool new t-shirt to show off your accomplishment!

Getting Started

Summer Passport participants can download a complete passport, regional passports or a one page sheet (by geographical regions). Download your passportshere

Use the itinerary sheets organized by geographical region to help assist you on your journey!

Things to know before you go

When visiting a park or on the trail, a variety of tools and accessories can help to keep you safe, warm and comfortable:

Wear sturdy, insulated winter boots
Dress for the weather Dress in layers for maximum comfort
Hike with a companion. Or stay with the group.
Know your limits
Carry out what you carry in.
Don’t feed wildlife.
Stay off ice and away from water
