The Trustees are teaming up with REI for a day of trail work at Rocky Woods. National Trails Day inspires the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to get outside with friends and family and participate in trail-work projects. Roll up your sleeves and pitch in to give the trails at Rocky Woods some TLC. You'll help with erosion control efforts and also clear vegetation to reopen vista points and maintain the rock outcrop plant community.
Have fun improving the trails while working alongside other outdoor enthusiasts. No experience necessary. Please wear boots and appropriate clothing; bring work gloves if you have them. REI will provide a light lunch. Please pre-register online at www.rei.com/stores/57. Rain or shine (cancellation in event of severe weather).
Attendees who pre-register at REI online will receive a FREE volunteer T-shirt the day of the event, while supplies last. As a special thank you to volunteers a limited number of mountain bikes will be available free of charge to volunteers directly after the event for a short ride through the trail system at Rocky Woods. Call 508.785.0339 for more information.
