The event, “Explore Your Parks”, is a partnership between The North Face, the American Hiking Society, Leave No Trace, Boston Natural Areas Network, Knucklebones, and DCR. This is a free event being held at Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester this Saturday, June 18, 2011, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.

The concept for the event is in support of the “Let’s Move Outside” initiative and National Outdoors Month which encourages the community to engage in recreational, outdoor play . The event will include nature hikes, kite making, canoe demonstrations, speakers, snacks, and recreational games.
