Join Teacher-Naturalist Lisa Hutchings and the crew of the Yankee Clipper for an exciting exploration of the lower Merrimack River ecosystem. Each month will feature a specific theme with hands-on science, seasonal live animals, and interactive props.

We'll also look for wading birds, seals, and waterfowl on every trip. Your family will have a wonderful time cruising and learning about this vital part of the area's natural history.

The Yankee Clipper is US Coast Guard inspected and licensed and has life jackets and a marine toilet for your convenience.

All children must be accompanied by adults. The deadline for preregistering for this program is 4:00 pm on the day before the program. We will run this program in all weather except thunderstorms or small craft warnings. If we cancel the program, we will issue full refunds or program credits.

Driving Directions to NEWBURYPORT WATERFRONT / DOCKS

COMING FROM BOSTON:
1. Take I-95 to Exit 57 (Route 113 Newburyport).
2. Follow Route 113 East into Newburyport for approximately 3 miles until you reach Green Street (before downtown Newburyport. )
3. Follow Green Street to the end.
4. At the light bear right and then an immediate left into the public parking lot.
5. During peak season, there is an $8.00 parking fee. Parking on the street is free but spaces are limited.
6. Look for the Black Cow Tap & Grill Restaurant. The waterfront is to the right.
7. Park as close to the waterfront as you can.
8. The Yankee Clipper is on the dock near the ticket booth.
9. A staff or crew member will greet you at the dock gate at 8:30am for boarding.

PARKING INFO: Newburyport is now on a metered system in all public parking lots and street spaces. The cost is $.50 an hour and you can pay with cash or credit card.
