Family presentations daily at 11:00am & 1:00pm with Lisa Hutchings. For ages 2 – 10. No preregistration necessary.

Each session offers a different theme, with art activities, experiments, group games, and more.

It's free-flow learning for the whole family. Come for just one or plan to try all three!
All materials will be provided.


April 17: Ponds & Pools (Aquatic wetlands)
• Activities may include: Origami, live creatures from local wetlands, aquatic insect zoo, outdoor games Vernal pool role play, hopping Frog craft, pond sketching, ink stamping, leaping Lily pad game, frog call recall, Build a Dragonfly Model, Build A Bug, Vernal Pool Slideshow, Stained glass salamanders craft, & paper bag pond puppets.
• Family presentation with Lisa Hutchings will be about a day in the life of a pond and a vernal pool with guided imagery, sound effects, fun props and audience participation! Times: 11:00am & 1:00pm


April 18: Backyard-ology (Birds & Bugs)
• Activities may include: The Great Migration Game, Bird Buddies with Mock Binocs, Bird Behavior Bingo, Build a Take-home Bird Nest, Bird Call Recall, Make a Bird Mobile, Mystery Bird Computer Quiz, Who Am I? Indoor Bird Walk, Migration Map Matching, Sketch a Song Bird, The Great Backyard Bug Hunt, take-home bug models, butterfly crafts, living creatures from under a log, and lots of great close-ups under our magiscopes!
• Family presentation will be about backyard birds and birdwatching for families using guided imagery, sound effects, fun props and audience participation. Times: 11:00am & 1:00pm


April 19: The River to the Sea (The salt marsh & estuary)
• Activities may include: horseshoe crab models, mapping the marsh activity, fill your bill game, live invertebrates and plants from the salt marsh, live minnow identification, salt marsh models to make, live plant, soil, and mud samples, life-size estuary art workshop, and waterproofing feather experiments, marsh bird observations.
• Family presentation about the nursery of the sea and its creatures featuring guided imagery, sound effects, fun props and audience participation. Times: 11:00am & 1:00pm
