Come to Joppa Flats for everything you’ve wanted to know about butterflies, moths, and caterpillars, and the plants they see as food but that we think of as pretty flowers. Staff members and volunteers will provide helpful information, hands-on learning, and several family-friendly activities, including lessons in backyard science, craft projects, exercises in critter collecting, and presentations about the life cycles of caterpillars.
Are there critters in your own back yard that you can’t identify? Bring them to Joppa on July 29, or bring in a photo, and the staff will do their best to help.
The free activities for adults and families will be held all day, rain or shine. Preregistration is not required. All ages are welcome.
