On Saturday and Sunday August 26 and 27 from 12-4, this season’s popular sculpture exhibit at New England Wild Flower Society’s Garden in the Woods will host MEADOW MADNESS. During the peak of the summer meadow this family festival features bees and butterflies and thousands of meadow blooms.

Get up close to observation beehives provided by the Essex County Beekeepers. Welcome thousands of butterflies on walks with the Massachusetts Butterfly Club, and meet some favorites up close at the Meadow Activity Station. There will be live caterpillars and lady bug releases throughout the day.

Enjoy sunflowers, coneflowers, Culver’s root, bee balm, and hundreds more varieties and see 37 sculptures by 8 New England artists on the ROCK ON! trail. Explore 45 glorious acres of the Garden throughout the day.

Special Activities
At 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 each day artist and sculptor Jerry Kuyper demonstrates the art of stone balancing. Stop by the Interactive Mini-sculpture Park and go on a scavenger hunt. Meet costumed character “Granny Granite.” Festival sponsors WCRB 102.5 classical radio provides a special kids table with music and gifts.
