Most of the time, these beautiful birds are well camouflaged as they wade through wetlands fishing with their long beaks for frogs, fish and even crayfish.
The rookery gives a different view of great blue herons as they perch majestically and take flight with their 6-foot wingspans.

Other species we may see include wood duck, brown creeper, belted kingfisher, and five species of woodpecker.
