The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s Urban Wilds Initiative (UWI) and the Boston Natural Areas Network (BNAN) will host a Colors of Autumn Hike at the Gladeside Urban Wild in Mattapan on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00pm.

Enjoy the fall foliage with Paul Sutton of UWI and members of the Urban Wilds Youth Conservation Corps who helped maintain and enhance the trails at the site this past summer. The walk will begin at the trailhead located at the gate at the end of Lorna Road which is off of Morton Street.

Refreshments will be provided and the walk is free of charge.

Rain Date
The rain date is Sunday, October 15, at 2 p.m.

This beautiful ten-acre natural area, bounded by Gladeside Avenue, West Selden Street, and Lorna Road, features ridges of oaks that encircle a densely vegetated swamp. With its recently improved trail system, the site provides opportunities for walking, hiking, and outdoor studies.
