Are you interested in camping? No prior outdoor knowledge is needed! Come join MassParks and MassWildlife for a weekend focused on the basics of camping and recreational skills to help your family enjoy the outdoors.
The Becoming an Outdoors Family Camping Program is a fun filled, overnight camping
experience for families new to camping.
The weekend is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your family and with nature.
This is a safe, comfortable, and relaxed setting for beginners to experience hands-on lessons for rewarding outdoor experiences in the future.
What to expect?
Participants will:
• Learn to register and check-in through the standard systems
• Set up their campsite –including tent, placement and onsite considerations/logistics
• Build and extinguish a proper campfire
• Choose from a menu of self-guided opportunities at the park
• Participate in special campers only guided programs
• Enjoy a classic fireside or amphitheatre program
