We will learn about hugelkultur and how it can be used in a permaculture garden.
Head permaculturist Debby Richards will lead the workshop while we construct a large hugel, so please come dressed for the weather and ready to work.
Take this opportunity to get outside, get your hands dirty and learn a new technique that you can use in your own garden.
Hugelkultur is a gardening technique that utilizes garden refuse, like branches and stumps.
Compost and soil are layered on top to create large mounds on which you plant.
As the branches break down, they retain water and enrich the soil, creating a fantastic growing environment!
