Not sure where to go, what to bring, or how to convince your kids it will be fun?
Then join us for the Beginner Hiking Program for Families!
Registering your family for this program will give you access to kid-friendly, beginner through more advanced, weekend hikes with other families.
Hike locations will mainly be Metro Boston / Eastern MA with some options for NH and the White Mountains.
During the hikes leaders will share info about appropriate clothing and equipment, trail etiquette, and basic safety on the trail.
Additionally, leaders will share family tips, tricks, and fun games to use with kids to motivate them and have fun in the woods!
Hikes will be categorized according to length and difficulty so that families can determine which hikes to participate in.
This program is appropriate for all ages, although the more advanced hikes may not be appropriate for the youngest children.
Fee for the program is $20 per family and all registered families will receive a copy of the AMC book: Outdoors with Kids Boston: 100 Fun Places to Explore In and Around the City and ongoing materials about entertaining your kids on the trail.
Kids also get the chance to earn a patch upon completion of three or more hikes.
Upon registration you will receive more details about the program.
