Join firefly aficionado and Science Educator Don Salvatore and the South Shore Sanctuaries staff for an evening full of firefly fun!
With games, activities, crafts, and demonstrations, all ages will enjoy learning about the Firefly Watch program, and how to identify and count our resident fireflies.
Activities will include firefly crafts, a firefly IQ ID challenge, and creating a portable habitat decoder tool and a firefly “flash card” to help you identify fireflies in the field.
Attend The Secret Lives of Fireflies presentation by Don Salvatore, enjoy firefly stories with staff naturalist Oak Leaf, and join a guided walk in search of the guests of honor!
While preregistration is not required, it is strongly recommended due to space limitations.
We will not be able to accept walk-ins if program has filled.
You don’t need to attend for the whole time, but if you’d like to participate in all activities it is recommended you arrive by 7:15.
