This maple-themed version of our popular children’s educational drop-off programming will teach your kids ages 5-11 the wonders of Sugar Maple trees and how farmers turn sap into sweet, sweet syrup.
Kids will learn how to tap a maple tree, collect sap, and turn that sap into sweet maple syrup in our sugar shack.
Our new “sugar makers” will make connections with the changing seasons and learn what plants need to survive the long New England winters.
Why can’t we get maple sap all year round?
Through games like “meet a tree”, crafts and learning activities, hikes, maple chores, and “taste tests” your child will walk away with new friends and a new appreciation their Sunday waffle topping.
This is an educational afternoon drop-off program for children ages 5-11 offered once weekly in a 4-week series March 5-26 from 1-4pm.
Children should be prepared to spend days mostly outdoors and should pack a snack and water bottle.
Caregivers will be contacted after registration with more detailed program information and to complete required drop-off programming paperwork.
Covid-19 health safety protocols include mask wearing, frequent hand washing or sanitizing, and most activities occur outdoors.
To keep groups and staff and safe as possible, families must register for a full series of programming.
Groups will include up to 10 students.
Groups will include the same students for the entire series.
