iNaturalist is an online platform that allows users to record observations, identify living things, and contribute to a body of data used by scientists and researchers around the world.
Our project allows us to record the many living things we find on our grounds.
Join us to learn more and start making observations!
No experience?
No problem!
This program will begin with a brief overview of how to use iNaturalist and we will spend the remainder exploring our grounds practicing making observations.
Many users use their smartphones to make and upload observations.
While a smartphone is not required to take part in this program, we suggest that at least one member of your party has a smartphone with the iNaturalist app installed.
The app is free to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play and you can find a guide on getting started here.
This workshop is designed for learners of all ages.
This program will run in light precipitation but will be postponed or canceled if there is heavy precipitation or extreme inclement weather.
This program takes place outside with access to an indoor accessible restroom.
Educators will meet the group at the main parking lot near the Carriage House.
