We will be hiking to Echo Pond, taking breaks as needed, while learning about the natural world around us.
At Echo Pond we will take a well-deserved respite to listen to a special story.
We’ll read “Little Beaver and The Echo” by Amy MacDonald and Sarah Fox-Davies — a sweet story about a young beaver who learns about meeting and making friends.
After a good rest we will return via the same path to the parking lot.
Feel free to make a day of it and bring lunch to eat on the trail, at a picnic table or in the pavilion next to the visitor’s center.
Dress for the weather – layers are best.
Please also pack enough water and snacks for your family.
This hike is geared to children 3 – 5 years old.
The round trip is just over ½ mile.
We will park and start the hike from the main parking lot, but you will be able to park briefly at the visitor’s center before the hike if a restroom is needed.
