The 4th annual HOPEsudbury fishing derby is a major fundraiser for the charity, which provides emergency financial help for people facing sudden bills, and for help with food and childcare.The Aug. 26 event (rain date: Aug. 27) will include fishing, ice cream and activities for families. The event costs $20 per person fishing, or $40 for families.
In 2022, the nonprofit provided over $100,000 in financial assistance to 104 Sudbury families, which mostly went to helping pay rent, mortgages and utility bills, according to HOPEsudbury.
