The Pacific Islands: An Ocean of Musical Traditions
A Multimedia Presentation by Ethnomusicologist Lisa M. Burke

Dr. Burke will use video, slides, and fieldwork recordings to explain differences between the music and dance cultures of Melanesia, Polynesia, and Micronesia, with particular focus on Kiribati, the site of her extensive fieldwork studies.

Please join us for this free musical lecture, the first in a series of musicological presentations to be presented in the Nicholas Van Slyck Concert Gallery, the New School of Music's newly refurbished recital hall. Donations will benefit NSM’s need-based scholarship fund.

Location: Nicholas Van Slyck Concert Gallery, New School of Music, 25 Lowell Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
