The annual Newburyport Literary Festival includes an exciting line-up of events and authors for kids from preschoolers to young adults.
Our 2022 honoree is young adult author Kim Johnson, who released her debut novel, This Is My America, in 2020. The “incredible and searing” story of racial injustice in America was awarded the Pacific Northwest Book Award and Malka Penn Human Rights Award for Children’s Literature in 2021 and will soon be a television series on HBO Max.
Ms. Johnson joined us for the Representation in YA panel at last year’s festival, and we are thrilled she will kick off the 2022 festival on Friday, April 29th at 6:00 p.m. EST where she will be in conversation with C.J. Farley, an arts critic (formerly of the Wall Street Journal) and author of many titles, including the YA book Zero O’Clock.
