Annual Quincy Christmas Parade & Festivities
This much-anticipated holiday tradition features dozens of bands, floats, clowns, antique autos and entertainment, attracting more than 200,000 spectators along the parade’s three-mile route
The Parade is part of a week-long celebration of events including Santa's arrival by parachute and the annual 'Turning on the Lights' in McIntyre Mall.
Event Highlights
Festivities kick off the Friday following Thanksgiving, on November 23 with the ceremonial turning on of the Christmas lights in Quincy Center at 6:00 p.m., with arts and crafts, strolling Victorian carolers, a Ginger Bread House decorating contest and other activities around City Hall beginning at 5 p.m.
Santa’s Mailbox will be placed in front of the Granite Ball at City Hall on Friday as well, and will be open for kids to drop off their letters to Santa throughout the season.
On Saturday, November 24, Santa and his elves arrive via parachute at Pageant Field at around 12:30 p.m.
On Sunday, November 25, the 60th annual Christmas Parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hancock Street and the Hannon Parkway in Quincy Center, and continues up Hancock Street to North Quincy High School.
