Stepping off at 9:30am traveling down Main Street from the corner of Shore Road to Veterans’ Field. This year’s 4th of July parade will see the return the post parade activities at Veterans’ Field; sponsored by the Chatham Cultural Council and the Chatham Chamber of Commerce.

The after-parade celebration begins at 11:30am as we sing and dance to the music of John Steven’s Doubleshot, a high energy Polka Band from Pennsylvania, playing music to a beat for all generations.

Parade winners will be announced and awards presented at 11:45am. Cash prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third most outstanding entry. The overall winner will receive the Chatham Jeweler’s Judges’ Trophy – an engraved silver bowl donated by and displayed at Chatham Jewelers on Main Street. Award ribbons will be given in each of the six entry classifications: Best Youth, Funniest, Large Float, Small Float, Walking Group, Civic Group.

Enjoy music from local Chatham musicians, the Highland Light Scottish Pipe Band which has been thrilling audiences at parades, concerts and Highland Games with spectacle of the Great Highland Bagpipes and Drums. The band has more than 20 pipers and drummers from Cape Cod and the Old Colony region, and presents the best of traditional pipe band repertoire.

Another annual favorite, the Ancient Mariners, Fife & Drum Corps from Guilford Connecticut will be chanting and playing their ever popular nautical theme music. The Chatham A’s food stand will also be open serving some traditional picnic treats.
