This presentation will provide an understanding of the warning signs of mental health concerns in young children, and also will focus on building resilience, minimizing vulnerabilities to depression and anxiety, communicating with children about distress or adversities, and determining when and what type of additional support is indicated.
Mona Potter, MD, is Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
She is cofounder and Medical Director of the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program, an intensive treatment program for children and adolescents struggling with anxiety disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
She also is Medical Director of the McLean 3 East Cambridge Residence and provides psychiatric consultation to Massachusetts school districts.
Dr. Potter currently lives in Lexington with her husband and two children.
Jeffrey Q.
Bostic, MD, EdD, is Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Director of School Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Dr. Bostic's research and clinical interests focus on mental health in school settings, and he provides psychiatric consultation to over 60 school districts across New England.
