A night of family entertainment with three acts: Ben's Trumpet, La Favorita, and Peter & the Wolf! Ben’s Trumpet is based on the book by Rachel Isadora (a former Boston Ballet dancer and prolific children’s book author) and has been choreographed into a 45-minute show by Tony Williams (another former Boston Ballet dancer).

Tony and Rachel met while dancing at the Boston Ballet. The book, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, won the Caldecott Award. The story is set in the Jazz Age and focuses on a little boy who longs to play the trumpet. The music is fantastic, the story is sweet and compelling and the show is a blast for the whole family.

What Show

This is such a wonderful show- filled with talent, great choreography and music. The last piece especially was my favorite and I have already asked to adopt the little boy who plays the lead character. Tony (the founder of Balletrox) is a friend of mine who puts this show on and runs this non-profit for urban kids giving them a platform to explore their creativity. These kids from tough neighborhoods, would not be able to otherwise have the opportunity to dance. Not only will you have a great time but you will also be giving back to a great organization.
