Mark your calendars, July 31, and August 1 & 2, 2009 families from Somerville, Cambridge, and towns near and far will be amazing and amusing audiences under the big tent at Nunziato Field in Somerville.
Founded in 1986 by parents in Somerville, OPENAIR Circus has been providing a place where young children and teens from all backgrounds can develop mad skills, self confidence, and leadership in a supportive community. OPENAIR keeps registration costs to a bare minimum to maximize accessibility to everyone.
'The OPENAIR Circus offers local families a unique and fun experience,' said Circus Chairman Peter Jehlen. 'Every summer, our volunteer-run program provides circus arts training to over 150 area children. Few things are more rewarding than seeing these students perform with such self-confidence and pride.'
Performances cap-off 6 weeks of summer classes offered by the Circus. The theme for this year's show is “OPENAIR Circus goes to Broadway”. The acts will feature music from popular Broadway musicals.
Performances are scheduled at:
7PM on Friday, July 31st.
2PM and 7PM on Saturday, August 1st.
2PM on Sunday, August 2nd.
All performances are at Nunziato Field, on the intersection of Summer St. and Vinal Ave. near Union Square in Somerville. Suggested donation is $3.00!!! A better deal on family fun can not be found.
The show will run about two hours with intermission. Refreshments and circus toys will be available.
