The Puppet Festival Extravaganza will be a celebratory event featuring performances, book signings, and puppet making in the hands-on areas of the two galleries currently featuring the exhibit 'Extraordinary: Puppetry, Storytelling, & Spirit.' Performers include Ashley Bryan, artist, author, poet, children's book illustrator, and performer from Little Cranberry Island, ME.

Also performing will be The Bluebird Theatre (Saxtons River, VT), a puppet troupe consisting of artists Donald Saaf, Julia Zanes, and their two sons ages 11 and 14. Hands on areas in the galleries will be available for use and exploration throughout the afternoon where visitors of all ages can make shadow puppets, hand puppets, and marionettes.

A stage set in the main gallery invites everyone to perform their own stories! Everyone is welcome to the New Art Center for this May 1st event!
