Turtle's New Home: A Deborah Costine puppet show at the Robbins Library. This original story shows Blanding the turtle in search of a new wetland habitat. Funded in part by a grant from the Jim Henson Foundation.

Blanding is forty year old turtle who has lived most of her life in the same general area in Eastern Massachusetts. Each spring she leaves her wetland and travels to a nearby sandy hill where she lays her eggs. Now, a new road has been built between the wetland and the hill, and she knows what happens when a turtle trys to cross a road!

On her travels she meets young Castor the Beaver who is eager to build a dam. She sees that her problems might be solved.

We also meet Blanding's friend the Blue Spotted Salamander as well as a little boy named Edward and his nature loving babysitter Rachel.
