The NEC opera department presents the Boston premiere of Benjamin Britten's Paul Bunyan. The timely operetta with a libretto by W. H. Auden takes on an American icon. Exploring themes of nature vs. industrialization, it’s full of musical delights, trenchant observation and, yes, lumberjacks.
Conducted by Stephen Lord, and directed by James Robinson, Artistic Director at The Opera Theater of St. Louis.
The cast and orchestra are composed of NEC students.
