“Fire in the Big-Top!” is a musical tale for narrator, brass, and percussion
that tells the story of Tom and Maggie, two kids who save their town when a fire breaks out at the circus.
In this interactive performance, children sing along with the musicians, make “fire sounds”, and learn about the brass and percussion instruments while they hear a story set to music.
The piece is suitable for elementary school children and younger, and lasts about 40 minutes.
After the concert, attendees will have the chance to see the brass and percussion instruments up-close and meet the musicians.
The performers are the Fenway Quintet, one of Boston's most active and esteemed professional brass ensembles.
