As the weather warms, Mateo heats things up with Transient Currents (March 13-29), featuring a Cuban-inspired audience all-time favorite and two ballets that embody Mateo’s knack for spellbinding storytelling.
Works of Love features a Cuban-inspired favorite, Danzones Balleticos (2004) a flirty and fun venture into Cuban social dance set to various Cuban composers.
Hailed as “glorious” and “elegant” after its recent premiere, Released (2014) is set to the Ferruccio Busoni/Bach Concerto for Keyboard and Strings in D Minor.
Sound Secrets (2010) features a woman haunted by her own guilt about her disloyalty to a lover who is himself unashamedly disloyal, to the music Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, by Béla Bartok.
