Award winning Character Actress Jessa Piaia will don her flight clothes to present a one-person interpretation of the career of pioneer aviatrix Earhart , the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
Ms. Piaia uses drama to reveal the accomplishments, struggles and contributions of this historic character whose early aviation career including flying from East Boston and Quincy while she lived in Medford in the late 1920s.
Earhart was also the author of three books, a guidance counselor at Purdue University and even designed sturdy luggage and a line of clothes for “women who live actively.” Her unexplained disappearance over the Pacific in 1937 still fascinates the general public.
The program runs 45 minutes in length with an informal question and answer period afterwards.
Ms. Piaia’s dramatization is appropriate for audiences ages ten and up.
Children will receive a free packet of stamps including a US Airmail honoring Earhart.
Group rates for the show for scouts and senior citizens are available.
