The Secret Garden tells the tale of young, orphaned Mary Lennox who discovers a secret garden, saves her sickly young cousin, and melts the heart of her emotionally distant uncle.
The staged reading will also include costumes designed by Beverly, MA artist Maureen Festa Crary, scenery created by Salem artist Linda Mullen of Grace and Diggs, and live music composed by Boston cellist Valerie Thompson.
If you’ve attended Creative Spirit’s bi-annual production of A Christmas Carol, you’ll be just as delighted by The Secret Garden!
The multi-generational cast includes regional actors Nicholas Aggelikas (Dickon), Avicennia Borgatti (Colin Craven), Peter Botteas (Ben Weatherstaff), Shari Caplan (Martha), Kai Chao (Neville Craven), Maggie Hamel (Mary Lennox), Dan Kelly (Archibald Craven/Stationmaster), and Mary O’Donnell (Mrs. Medlock).
The production is stage managed by Elissa Jordan.
The reading will take place outside in the Athenaeum garden.
In the case of rain, the reading will take place inside.
