and the Tale of Tornado Alley follows the titular character and his grandson Bobby on a journey
around the globe - from the chilly arctic to the sizzling warmth of the Gulf of Mexico.
Through the power of his magic telescope, meteorologist Mr. Twister can see just about everything - except the family reunion of the North and South winds that’s about to create a cyclone in Tornado
Alley in an operatic adventure of global proportions.
Focused on climate change issues of clean air, clean heat, and pollination; the opera explores themes of weather science and personifies the North and South Winds through live music performance and larger than life puppets.
Performances of “Mr. Twister and the Tale of Tornado Alley” will take place in Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston in outdoor greenspaces following puppet making workshops where audience members are invited to craft simple puppets to perform as part of the show.
Recommended for youth and family
audiences, ages 3 & up. Run time: Approximately 45mins.
