Nanki-poo, the Mikado’s son, is traveling disguised as a musician to avoid marriage an older lady of the court. Nanki-poo seeks to woo his love, Yum-Yum, whoYum-Yum is betrothed to her guardian, Ko-Ko, a former tailor sentenced to death for flirting but now appointed to the town’s highest position, Lord High Executioner, who, cannot execute anyone until he cuts his own head off! The complications are delightful, the comedy enjoyable and the music memorable as Gilbert & Sullivan, as usual, resolve all difficulties happily in the end.
