For more than a dozen years, The Children¹s Museum has presented a series of live performances each spring in an informal family atmosphere. All performances begin at 2:00 PM and are included in the regular cost of museum admission.

Family Music Series Upcoming Schedule:

April 1 at 2:00pm: Two Old Friends
The duo Two Old Friends features seasoned musical professionals, Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, singing and playing songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea. Mac and 'Hutch' are best known as the founders of Northeast Winds. These multi-talented musicians will be playing the banjo, guitar, mandolin, bodran and the harmonica in this fun, interactive performance.

The Family Music Series was started to give children an introduction to live professional musical entertainment in a relaxed, interactive setting. Performance genres have ranged from classical to contemporary, as well as music from a variety of world cultures, and more than 20 groups and individuals have performed at the museum through the years.

About the Portsmouth Children's Museum
The Children¹s Museum of Portsmouth is one of the region¹s premier attractions for families with children of all ages. The museum offers a range of informal learning opportunities in the areas of science, art, music, math, and more. Most of the museum¹s exhibits have been designed and created by the staff in conjunction with local artisans, and all are based on important developmental and educational principles. In addition to its on-site programming, The Children¹s Museum also brings authentic museum experiences to children throughout New Hampshire via the award-winning Museum To You program, and currently provides afterschool learning activities in twelve 21st Century Learner sites in Nashua, Manchester, Winchester, and Hillsboro-Deering schools.
