Bad Experience
My family and I decided to attend a 3:00pm puppet show 'Under the Night Sky' on Jan 14 2007, and we are unhappy to report that we were treated very rudely and asked to leave the theatre by the staff members of the Puppet Showplace Theatre. Albeit being charged $9.50 for my son's admission (a 16-month-old child) we were asked to leave the puppet theater because my son would not be perfectly silent, or sit 'completely' still during the puppet show. I found this expectation to be highly unreasonable for any 16-month-old child. The staff members were entirely aware of his age as they insisted he be charged admission for being over 12 months old. After being told several times that we could allow our son to walk in and out of the theater as necessary we were unexpectedly asked to leave. We immediately complied, however the staff refused to reimburse us for our four tickets. We were not physically in the actual theater more than 5 minutes during actual showtime. I was never told at any moment before paying for the tickets that they would not be reimbursed, nor is this information presented in their booklet, website, business sign, within their establishment, or on the ticket itself. We wish to have our money returned to us. I found this experience neither positive, nor enjoyable. Overall we were treated rudely, and our money was taken from us without any mention that it would not be reimbursed for the simple reason that we had a normal, active, 16-month-old child. They should have told us up front that the show policies are not suited for a child of his age, as well, we should have been informed prior to paying that they could not reimburse us if need-be. That would have been the appropriate thing to do. It was not done. Instead, after the fact and rudely, we were told we had an option to accept a gift certificate -- which never materialized -- and that we should return in several years' time to re-claim our position in the audience. The patrons of this establishment do not have to worry about us returning for another show. They can worry about the negative advertising I will share with my friends and coworkers as well as the family groups I meet with due to their ill treatment of an innocent, 16-month-old child who just wanted to walk around their playhouse, and enjoy their performance.RELATED LINKS | ↑ top |
